We combined three awkward spaces to renovate the kitchen in a century-old home that had been chopped up over many decades. The new airy space gleams with high-gloss Poliform cabinetry, marble waterfall countertops, and sleek Gaggenau appliances. The design includes traditional crown molding and hand-scraped hardwood floors to honor the home’s history.
In another bid to update the home while honoring its traditional architecture, we turned a coat closet in the entry into a powder room whose finishes replicate those in the kitchen. In the process, we replaced the entire foyer’s flooring with marble tile arranged in a modern configuration.
