master suite complete with dressing room. make up room, and bathroom
An open, contemporary home with plenty of natural light, designed by Marshall | Moya Design, called for a unique approach for this master suite. Challenged by progressive architecture, Sagart Studio created an innovative solution for this bedroom, both a dramatic gallery and peaceful retreat.
Custom Poliform cabinetry was designed to fuse seamlessly with the architectural forms by replacing traditional walls. This allowed for a rare and unexpected storage solution, refined in form, to not only house the owner’s fashion collection but also to become the backdrop for their glass art collection. The finishes and textures of the bedroom, dark wood and leather, morph into high-gloss white glass surfaces of the dressing room, bathrooms, and hallway. Devoid of embellishment and unified in attention to detail, the cabinetry becomes one with the space, emphasizing the colors and shapes of the art displayed.
The contemporary cabinetry is an integral part of the architecture itself, creating relationships between spaces. The dressing rooms, wardrobes, and bathrooms are perfect examples of this. Art, light, fashion, and media unify the spaces and define the atmosphere.
The Rock Creek Residence Project won the Design Excellence Honor award’s “un-built” category for the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) in 2006 and again for the “built” category in 2010.
